Travel Bureau - Discover Ajman with Travel Bureau & Kuoni

Destination focus: Ajman, UAE

Friday 3 August 2018

The smallest of the seven United Arab Emirates, Ajman is a budding new destination in the Arabian gulf, boasting a stunning 16-kilometre stretch of beach as well as an array of other attractions. Ajman is a great choice for anyone who has been tempted by the glamour of Dubai but is put off by the hefty price-tag. For a 3-night stay, choosing Ajman over Dubai will save you approximately £250pp and, what’s more, you’ll find the food and drink is better value once you get there, too. Most hotels offer free shuttle buses into Dubai so you can still take advantage of the city’s famous shopping and attractions however, though Ajman is small, there is still plenty to see and do without heading over to her larger neighbour.

The Ajman Museum

For history, visit the fascinating Ajman Museum* where intriguing historical artefacts and archaeological finds are housed in an impressive 18th century fort. For shopping, head to one (or all!) of Ajman’s many city-centre souks – foodies will love the vibrant sights and smells of Ajman’s food markets. For nature lovers, Al Zarah is the place to be; this stunning nature reserve, located over one million square miles of mangroves, is home to a vast number of species including beautiful pink flamingos. For sport, Al Zarah Golf Club is home to an 18-hole Championship Golf Course or you could always go horse-riding along the beach as you’re sure never to be far from a stable full of the famous Arabian steeds.

If that’s not enough to make up your mind, there are even more benefits to ditching Dubai in favour of her little sister: it’s actually a shorter transfer to Ajman from Dubai Airport than to The Palm (30 minutes as opposed to 45) and the hotels are smaller, providing you with a more personalised service.
