Brazil's brilliant fluorescence has propelled it to South America's main destination. The landscape is a collection of culture and world heritage sites waiting to be traversed and revelled in, with extensive bays lining its surreal coast. More than most places Brazil is a place of extremes: where sonorous cities sit atop pristine beaches and the countryside is swamped with enticing jungles.
The streets of Rio de Janeiro are living entities, spooling and swirling with rhythmic flare and dense humidity. In February, at the end of high season, Carnival pounces on the city, devouring the avenues and morphing it into an endless stream of psychedelic dyes and shimmering sequences. The party itself is a visual feast;completely overwhelming in scope and detail, sporting sensual dancers and exotic pulses of primeval beasts that echo and resonate through time. Sao Paulo also thrives on its cuisine and spectacle of theatre and despite the long flight, is only 4 hours behind UK time.
Even in its most remote corners, Brazil's potency still packs an evocative punch. The Amazon River and Rainforest summon a loud buzz of birds and insects amongst its other rare wildlife whilst also offering an otherworldly backdrop of theatrical mountains. Perhaps most dreamlike about this idyllic paradise is Iguacu Falls, a congregation of over 270 waterfalls with 450,000 cubic feet of water falling per second. Unlike any other place on Earth, the site is as resounding as its unrelenting roar.
The music, the beaches, the wildlife, and most importantly the people: it's hard not to fall for Brazil.
Because of its tropical and subtropical climate, Brazil is an all-year round destination
