Solo Traveller

Solo, But Not Alone

Solo travel is a wonderful way to enjoy a little independence and spend time doing the things that you enjoy the most, without debate or interruption. Of course it needn’t mean travelling alone, Travel Bureau can recommend a wide range of group tours that are specifically designed for solo travellers. Solo doesn’t necessarily mean single either, a growing number of couples opt to take separate holidays in order to pursue interests that their partner doesn’t share. A wife spending her week bird watching in Costa Rica whilst her husband learns watercolour painting in the South of France for example.

Historically, the solo traveller has had a bit of a rough deal with hefty supplements on single rooms and cabins. Travelling solo as part of a group however you can avoid these supplements. Some operators will pair you up in a shared room with another traveller of the same sex and others have negotiated favourable single rates with hotels, some even drop the single supplement altogether.

No matter what you choose to do, be it discovering the natural beauty of the rainforests and coffee plantations of Costa Rica, climbing Kilimanjaro or cruising down the Nile, you can do so in the knowledge that everything has been carefully planned. You’ll have the peace of mind and security of travelling with others, the benefit of a knowledgeable guide and the freedom to choose when you want to be part of the group and when you’d rather do your own thing. In addition, you’ll get to meet a range of fascinating people who share your interests.
